Launch of Young People’s Social Enterprise Publication; “#iDare” by The Platform Project
March 29 @ 4:30 pm - 6:00 pmFree
Sadie Sharp launched The Platform Project Community Interest Company just under 2 years ago in Swindon to help disadvantaged young adults learn how to work for themselves and run a business, and are about to launch a couple of trading youth enterprises, the next of which is #iDare – a youth issues magazine run by young people, for young people (flyer attached).
It is a fully funded project which runs every Saturday for the rest of 2019 and is open to ANY young person aged 13-20 (or up to 24 if disabled) that is interested in learning how to run a business, gain experience in media, or have an outlet to help them have a voice on things that interest them.
The youth group that set the project up a few weeks ago have very clearly articulated that the magazines objectives are to give young people a voice on things that they are passionate about, to act as an inspiration for young people, and to equip them to become the best version of themselves, so will run a range of content (articles, blogs, podcasts and videos) on things like mental health, positive social action initiatives, and investigation reports on youth issues such as bullying, social isolation and the world through the lens of Autism etc.
The launch event of the magazine will be at 4.30-6.00 Friday 29th March at Green Labyrinth, 1 Milton Road, Swindon.
